A Manual for Reading gexoption.com
Buy at the Put Wall.
Sell โ or defend โ at the Call Wall.
Search any ticker on gexoption.com and six numbers show up: Put Wall, Call Wall, Gamma Flip, Max Pain, Max OI Wall, Net GEX. This page turns those numbers into rules for where to buy, where to sell or hold, and when to switch into defense.
01 ยท Price Map
Three walls, three zones
What matters isn't the walls themselves โ it's which band today's price is sitting in.
02 ยท Glossary
The six numbers gexoption.com shows you
Scan them in this order every time you search a ticker โ what each one means, and what it's actually used for.
Put Wall
The strike where put sellers (mostly institutions) have the heaviest hedge exposure. As price nears it, they tend to buy in defense โ acting as support below.
How to use it โ Your primary reference for dip buys, CSP strikes, and adding to a position. But wait for a volume-backed bounce, not just a wick touching it, before entering.
Call Wall
The strike where call sellers have the heaviest hedge exposure. As price nears it, they tend to sell to cap the rally โ acting as resistance above.
How to use it โ Where you set covered-call strikes, take profit, or open a collar. "A collar built on the support line just burns real money" โ defense goes here, not down at support.
Gamma Flip
The price where the market's volatility character switches. Above it: positive gamma (dealers dampen moves, range-bound). Below it: negative gamma (dealers amplify moves, trending/volatile).
How to use it โ A close below this line is the cue to tighten stops or cut size. Range strategies (wheel, covered calls) only work reliably above the flip.
Max Pain
The price at expiration where option sellers as a group lose the least. The theory: price tends to drift toward this level as expiry approaches.
How to use it โ Useful for D-2-to-D-0 scalping and weekly option selling. Don't use it as directional evidence for a swing position.
Max OI Wall
The single strike carrying the largest open interest. When it lines up with the Call Wall or Put Wall, that level's reliability is especially high.
How to use it โ Always check it against the Call Wall and Put Wall. Three indicators converging on one strike isn't "mild resistance" โ it's a real wall.
Net GEX ยท Gamma Regime
The sum of total gamma exposure. Positive = dealers hedge in a way that suppresses volatility. Negative = dealers hedge in a way that amplifies it.
How to use it โ Negative gamma combined with Stage 1/4 is this playbook's filter โ a signal can still fire, but you size it down.
03 ยท Workflow
From search to entry, in six steps
The same sequence every time, from typing a ticker into gexoption.com to placing the order.
Search the ticker
Type the symbol into gexoption.com's search bar โ spot price, expiry (D-n), and all six indicators load on one screen.
Locate the three walls
Sort Put Wall / Gamma Flip / Call Wall low to high, and mark which band the current price sits in โ buy-watch, hold-and-wait, or sell-and-defend.
Check for confluence
See whether the Max OI Wall lines up with the Call Wall or Put Wall โ a wall with confluence carries more weight.
Filter by regime and Stage
Read Net GEX's sign alongside the Weinstein Stage. Positive gamma + Stage 2 = high-confidence signal; negative gamma + Stage 1/4 = cut the size.
Cross-check the higher timeframes
Work down from weekly (direction) โ daily (trend) โ 4H Hull 21/50 (entry), and confirm they agree with the GEX signal โ never enter on GEX alone.
Data at D-2 or closer is a short-term reference onlyPlace the order, set the defense line
Buy or sell a CSP on a confirmed Put Wall bounce; take profit or buy a collar near the Call Wall; tighten stops on a Gamma Flip breakdown.
04 ยท Worked Examples
Reading today's three tickers
As looked up on gexoption.com, 2026-09-02. Plugging real numbers into the six steps above.
| Ticker | Spot | Put Wall | Gamma Flip | Call Wall | Regime | Stage | Read |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| SNDK | $1,537.17 | 1,500 | 1,513.9 | 1,600 | Positive gamma | Stage 2 | Holding above the flip (1,513.9) โ hold-and-wait. Add on a confirmed bounce at 1,500; take profit or collar near 1,600. |
| DRAM | $55.85 | 54 | 60 | 60 | Positive gamma | โ | Call Wall, Gamma Flip, and Max OI Wall all converge at 60 โ a strong wall. Write covered calls at the 60 strike; re-enter on a confirmed bounce at 54. |
| PLTR | $168.65 | 165 | 175.6 | 180 | Negative gamma | Stage 1 | Below the flip (175.6), negative gamma + Stage 1 (basing) โ the exact combo this playbook filters. Even a bounce at 165 gets a smaller size until Stage 2 confirms. |
05 ยท Risk Rules
Four rules that outrank the numbers
A wall showing up isn't permission to act. These come first.
A touch is not a signal
A wick touching the Put Wall and a volume-backed bounce off it are two different things. Entering before the bounce confirms is entering early.
Defense gets built at resistance
Design collars and protective puts near the Call Wall (resistance). Building one near support just eats into your own upside.
"A collar built on the support line just burns real money."Negative gamma means smaller size
In a negative-gamma stretch, dealer hedging amplifies moves rather than dampening them. Same setup, smaller size.
GEX confirms โ it doesn't originate
Use GEX walls to sharpen an entry inside a direction the weekly, daily, and 4H charts already established. Never open a new direction on a GEX signal alone.
